A NOTE FROM OUR FOUNDER
Hi! Thank you for stopping by our site. I am thrilled that you’re here. I want to share with you a little about my story. When I was younger, I had a hard time accepting myself. I was bullied in school. I also had very low self-esteem and as a result, I sought to belong in unhealthy ways. That included being influenced by others (peer pressure) and doing things outside of my character to fit in. That was a very tough time in my life. Thankfully, I grew out of that and into a more confident woman. Fast-forward to today and I am a wife and mother. I have 11 children 3 of which are daughters. One of my daughters got bullied during her first year in Middle School. When I saw her tears, I saw my own. I could not only identify with my daughter, I wanted to do something about it. I wanted to create an experience where girls and women could come together in a positive way.
When I founded You Go Girl, I never dreamed that we would have the opportunity to impact girls and women in our community and beyond. I am so honored to give back in such a meaningful way. Perhaps you can relate to my story or you have a friend who might be experiencing low self-esteem or bullying. Feel free to look around at our site and discover how you might get involved. I want you to know that you are not alone. I’d love to hear from you.
